  • About Me

My passion for photography began several years ago, when I purchased my first 35 mm (film) camera. Technology has changed significantly over the years, but what hasn't changed is my love of capturing meaningful moments. The sun rising over the Grand Canyon, or setting over Grand Lake, the day a child is born, the adoring looks of a newly engaged couple, a special anniversary -- capturing these moments and recording the images brings me great joy.

My goal is to make your photo shoot great fun and to provide you with images that you will cherish for many years. Any of the landscape images on my website, Facebook page, or Instagram can be custom-sized for your home or office. Contact me for prices and for information about upcoming art shows/sales.

There is beauty all around us and in every individual. Capturing this beauty and reflecting the personality of each person I photograph is very rewarding. I provide on-location portrait shoots in and around the state of Oklahoma, and in my studio in Edmond. I look forward to working with you.

Texas Bluebonnets

Last week, I hopped in my car, headed from Oklahoma City to Texas, in search of the infamous bluebonnets. I have always wanted to see and photograph them. They did not disappoint and were stunning. I stayed at the  amazing Winding Ridge Bed & Breakfast, which is located on the BlueBonnet Trail, near Ennis, Texas. Many of the images I took were on the grounds of this beautiful and peaceful place. Here are a few of the images.

A New Life

There is nothing as precious as a new life. Seven-week-old Adam brought his mom by this week to get their portraits taken. He is so beautiful, as is mom, and was a real good sport. Just darling! Here are a few photos captured during their shoot.

Celebrating Her Last Chemo Treatment

On Jan. 30, 2014, I had the privilege of photographing the last chemotherapy treatment for a courageous woman named Sherry, and her daughter, Susan. Sherry was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cancer of the lymph tissue) in July. For the past six months, she has undergone two 4-hour chemo treatments per month. This was her 12th and final session. She finds out in early March if she is in remission. Sharing these intimate life moments with families is such an honor. I believe you can see in the photos that Sherry is a very upbeat and brave person. The sparkle in her eyes as she left the cancer center following her last treatment was priceless.

Kayla & Zach’s Wedding

This past spring, I had an opportunity to take engagement photographs for Kayla & Zach. It was an honor to photograph their wedding on November 1. They are a great couple. Perfect together. Here are a few shots of the wedding. More photos, including Kayla’s make-up session, are available on my Sheryl McLain Photography Facebook page.
