  • About Me

My passion for photography began several years ago, when I purchased my first 35 mm (film) camera. Technology has changed significantly over the years, but what hasn't changed is my love of capturing meaningful moments. The sun rising over the Grand Canyon, or setting over Grand Lake, the day a child is born, the adoring looks of a newly engaged couple, a special anniversary -- capturing these moments and recording the images brings me great joy.

My goal is to make your photo shoot great fun and to provide you with images that you will cherish for many years. Any of the landscape images on my website, Facebook page, or Instagram can be custom-sized for your home or office. Contact me for prices and for information about upcoming art shows/sales.

There is beauty all around us and in every individual. Capturing this beauty and reflecting the personality of each person I photograph is very rewarding. I provide on-location portrait shoots in and around the state of Oklahoma, and in my studio in Edmond. I look forward to working with you.

Zion National Park, Utah

In November of 2017, I had an opportunity to participate in a photography workshop with other photo friends. We stayed in Zion National Park, got up early for spectacular sunrises, hiked 5 miles through The Narrows, and took in some beautiful sunsets. One evening, we drove out to Horse Shoe Bend. There were so many WOW moments. What a beautiful country we have. Here are a few of the images from that incredible trip. Any of these can be signed and printed onto photo paper, stretched canvas or other mediums. Contact me for prices. Please Like Sheryl McLain Photography’s page on Facebook and follow me on Instagram. Questions? I’d love to hear from you. Just drop me an email.

Children’s Photo Session – Fall 2017

I recently met the mother of these two beauties in downtown OKC, at Pumpkinville, for a candid photo session. One is almost two, and the other will be six soon. The day each of these sweet sisters was born, I had the opportunity to photograph their entire birth day, from arrival at the hospital, until they got to meet their mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, etc. So, watching them grow up and getting to capture the phases of their lives is especially meaningful to me. During the two-hour session, the two year old didn’t stop. So, there was no opportunity for “poses” from her. The older sister did pose, but the challenge was getting her to enjoy the moments of play and fun on the playground versus a fake, rehearsed smile. These are a few of the 60+ edited digital images provided to their parents. They were happy, which means I was very happy. If you want a candid session of your children at play, with some attempts at a few posed shots, contact me. I’d love to talk to you.

Professional Headshots

I was recently asked to do a portrait session for this young professional, who needed some headshots for her employer. She came out to my neighborhood and after talking about specific needs, we spent about an hour together. I captured various poses and looks, with and without glasses, and with a change of clothing . She was very pleased with the results, which always makes me very happy. If you need some professional photos taken, contact me and we will discuss your needs and look at calendars.

Senior of 2018 – Session 2

For this senior’s second session, she wanted a more contemporary, sophisticated feel. So, after discussing options, we choose downtown OKC for her shoot. She brought several changes of clothes for different looks, and I found several different backgrounds within the area to offer her many options. These are a “few” of the results from our second session. She and her mom were pleased, so I consider that a huge success. These sessions should be fun for the senior, and should reflect who they are as individuals. If you need to book a senior session and want something unique, contact me! I’d love to be the photographer you select for this important milestone in your life and your family’s life.
